We carry out pioneering national and international projects in consortia in which the Valladolid City Council is a key partner; European initiatives with a focus on decarbonization, sustainable mobility, urban renaturalization, adaptation to climate change, digital transformation, energy efficiency and circular economy, among other areas.

More than twenty innovation projects with European funding in recent years focused on sustainable development of Valladolid and, even more so, since the European Green Deal defines the roadmap of decarbonization, with people as protagonists and economic urban growth, social and environmental in the same balance.

ADAPT2CYL aims to develop a territorial adaptation plan to climate change for the region of Castilla y Leon. The actions of Valladolid City Council will be based on transferring the city's experience in strategic planning on climate change, based on the Climate Mission and the Valladolid Climate Change Strategy

URBANEW aims to promote the rehabilitation of buildings to reduce the carbon footprint in residential, commercial, public, and private construction. Additionally, achieve greater energy efficiency in this sector

LEGOFIT focuses on promoting positive energy buildings, those that generate more energy than they consume. In Valladolid, the site of one of the five pilots, a comprehensive energy rehabilitation of a building with 126 apartments will be carried out

The Fasa district, in Valladolid, which is home to more than 1,000 people and 400 families, is today an example of energy rehabilitation. Its neighbors have managed to save more than 60% in their energy consumption and drastically reduce the carbon footprint in a renovated neighborhood.

Training and teaching cities so that they can finance and implement their climate action plans is the objective of PROSPECT+. A Horizon 2020 project, with a learning program in which Valladolid is a mentor due to her experience in innovative projects.
