The mayor visits the high-tech company Mozo Grau, committed to climate action in the city
Visit to the Mozo Grau factory
  • The company is pioneer in its sector for its commitment to R&D to ensure the quality and precision of its products.

  • It stands out for its commitment to the environment, which is part of its strategy, and today, it has signed the Valladolid Climate Agreement.

Valladolid City Mayor, Jesús Julio Carnero, has visited today the Valladolid company Mozo Grau, a medical device manufacturer. Mozo Grau is a pioneering advanced technology company in Valladolid, which employs almost 100 people.

The nearly 30-year-old company has won several awards, five patents, two research chairs and is a benchmark in the manufacturing of dental implants and prosthetic attachments.

Mozo Grau offers products of the highest quality and a commitment to job creation and economic dynamism.

The precision in the manufacturing of its products has led Mozo Grau to reach a very important milestone: the perfect sealing in the union of its components against bacteria, being the only company in the sector that can scientifically prove it. This great achievement has also been made possible thanks to the company's R&D, which is clearly committed to Research, Development and Quality as basic pillars for its growth.

Mozo Grau, aware of its social responsibility and with its environment, has incorporated the environmental care perspective in its strategic plans. In this sense, the Mayor pointed out that ‘for this reason it also stands out for its commitment to environmental protection, which is why the company has today signed its “Adhesion to the Climate Agreement of the City of Valladolid”. The adhesion charter involves adding the company's action plan to contribute to the decarbonisation of the city’.

More than 100 'Mision Partners'

The Agreement, which already has more than 100 signatories, stems from Valladolid's Climate Mission to achieve a zero-emissions city by 2030 and outlines the path to reducing CO2 emissions in the city in strategic sectors such as industry.

One of its lines of action is to get more and more companies, public and private entities from the social, academic and productive fabric of Valladolid to join this ambitious project, on which 100 European cities are working hard to set an example for the rest of the continent.

Photovoltaic energy and an electro-lighting station

Carnero stressed that ‘the Mozo Grau company is a good example of the private sector's commitment to the decarbonisation economy, a major European commitment, and local civic engagement. It has integrated into its strategy the perspective of environmental care, so that their work processes cause the least possible impact on Valladolid’.

The factory is 100% self-sufficient during the daytime, supplied by a 183.7 kW photovoltaic plant. In addition, it uses the surplus to power a photovoltaic charging station for electric cars, which is installed next to its headquarters. The cars that recharge there do so with 100% green energy, making the plant a pioneer in Castilla y León.

And to close the circle of its ‘zero emissions’ objective, it has a commercial fleet of 35 hybrid vehicles, with which it contributes to reducing the impact of CO2 emissions generated by its activity.

Enlargement and international expansion

The company will have a new building by next summer. In the upcoming months, work will begin on its new facility dedicated to the manufacturing and testing of its components. The enlargement is a response to the company's expansion, not only in Spain, but also internationally, especially in China and, shortly, in the United States, having recently obtained the American FDA health license.
